Podcasts can be either audio or video digital recordings that are downloaded over the Internet for playback on PCs or portable media players such as iPods or MP3 players. So why do you need podcast transcription if you have the audio? The content of audio recordings on the Internet is not readily searchable and, therefore, classified by the search engines. This renders your podcast almost invisible.

We can provide a transcript of excerpts or a full transcript which can be uploaded to the Internet alongside the audio recording. The transcript will show up in the search engine results like any other document or website, as well as being available to a more disadvantaged audience. This is particularly pertinent now, since the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Communications Act 2003 encourage the provision of full accessible content for all broadcasts. The sound files can help the visually impaired while subtitles or a full transcript can be very helpful to the hearing impaired. Also, some people prefer to read content because it's quicker than listening to an audio file.

Please note: these rates apply only to good quality, clearly audible digital recordings. The price range is designed to cover issues such as background noise, strong accents and technical terms. Should the subsequent recording prove to be not as described, we will requote and discuss this with you before proceeding. ALL RECORDINGS are listened to a second time, Internet research is carried out to identify names or terminology, and all transcripts are proofread by the Director, Irene Boston, before being sent to clients. There is no extra charge for this service. Not all transcription companies do this, some don't even proofread, so make sure you ask the right questions before choosing a service.

For any large scale podcast transcription project, we would recommend giving us as much advance notice of your requirements as possible. This allows us to reserve space in our schedule. Most established transcription companies have a long list of regular customers and to suddenly find a block of free space for a large project can be difficult. So book your transcription company in advance, the same way you would an event venue or interview schedule.

Our default transcript style is Intelligent Verbatim which is the most cost effective method of transcription. Please read our definitions of the types of transcript we offer to choose which format is most suitable for your needs. We use a standard format and layout for all transcripts but should you wish something different, please let us know. As with all our transcriptions, we provide a transcript code for each document to signify areas which are inaudible or unclear.

We can download your podcast either direct or via your RSS feed, or the podcast recording can be uploaded via our system. We provide a free File Upload secure FTP service for all digital recordings via our website to ensure prompt delivery to our transcription team.
